Isleworth lead the Tavistock with a cumulative 30-under score after the first round with Albany just two strokes back and Lake Nona five off the pace.
Traditionally this elite, informal, non-PGA Tour club tournament has been competed between two teams, Isleworth and Lake Nona (both from Florida in the States) but this year two more teams Albany from the Bahamas and Queenswood from Surrey in England.
Tiger Woods, playing for his new team Albany for the first time, managed to bring some of his final-round form from the WGC-Cadillac Championship into the Tavistock Cup by shooting a better-ball 64 with partner Arjun Atwal.
The best score of the day though was achieved by two pairs; Graeme McDowell and Retief Goosen for Lake Nona, and Brian Davis and JB Holmes for Isleworth, both shot 60s.
The other new team, Queenswood, is 14 shots off the pace going into the second and final day and will have their work cut out for them in the singles.
