Paul Casey has won the European Tour Shot of the Month for March for his incredible hole-in-one in the final round of the WGC-Cadillac Championship.

Casey sunk an eight iron on the par-3 15th hole, and is the third hole-in-one to win the Shot of the Month award this year after January's prize went to Sergio Garcia's in Abu Dhabi and February's to Martin Kaymer in Dubai.

Unfortunately the shot is probably going to be better remembered for the banter and confusion around the ace, rather than the actual shot itself.

Immediately before the shot Casey and his caddie Craig Connelly had agreed to share any prize if the Englishman were to sink a hole-in-one on that hole.

So naturally Connelly was ecstatic when the ball dropped and began celebrating immediately, especially because there was a nice, big brand-new car on display behind the tee box.

But it turned out that the car was actually a prize for another hole.

Second place went to Jamie Donaldson after he sank his second shot on the par-four 18th to complete a 61 at the Hassan Trophy II.

Julien Quesne's four-iron to five feet on the last when he won the Andalucian Masters with a brilliant 64 took third place.
