Rory McIlroy caused a lot of controversy at this year’s Masters when he kicked the sand in the bunker on 18 in the second round, after leaving his ball in it.
The Rules of Golf, as we all know, are rather pedantic (for good reason the Mole might add). Here is the video evidence of McIlroy kicking the sand and thus possibly “improving his lie” in the bunker (which you should know is against the rules!).
The Rules Committee at the Masters deemed that he had not done so, and hence, was not DQ’ed. But the Mole doubts you’ll see him do it again anytime soon.
Silly boy.
