The 2009 Presidents Cup again showcased the argument for picking up and walking back to the clubhouse once the cup was decided. The Americans got to 18-11 with five matches still out on the course.
Damp squib and very little interest after the cup is decided. The Mole thinks the players should just pick up their balls and members of the winning team should go and celebrate, while the losers should get together to commiserate.
Who cares who wins or loses after the cup is decided? Certainly not the crowds and the players’ hearts can’t possibly be in their matches so, academic or not, wrap it up and have a few beers together in the clubhouse…
