The big question the Mole is asking this weekend is: Can Tiger Woods finish? After losing the PGA Championship to YE Yang, he just hasn’t been the same. He’s playing great golf, but his putter is cold, like Antarctic-winter type cold. He’s also lost his top spot on the FedEx Cup standings...
But that’s not a problem. Tiger has already won four times at Cog Hill (this week’s home of the BMW Championship) and has won 70 times on the PGA Tour. So the stats are in his favour and, if he doesn’t win the FedEx Cup, the Mole is pretty sure he won’t go hungry without the extra $10 million.
After the second round he’s tied with Mark Wilson who’s spent a large part of his summer at the Cog Hill course working on his game. Woods and Wilson actually have some history. Today will be the first time since 1992 that the two will play together as a two-ball. The last time they played as a two-ball was at the US Junior Amateur, where Woods, who was 16 at the time, came back from a two-stroke deficit to win on the last.
Either way, it’s not going to be the plain sailing that you’ve come to expect from Woods. The Mole hopes you’ll be watching – it should be good.
