It was just another one of those faultless days out on the course for Tiger Woods. He played in his usual style – popping in birdies when they counted the most and never looking too perturbed by what was going on around him.
His lead now sits at four strokes and he must be enjoying the fact that of the eight times in Majors that he’s been leading after 54-holes, he’s won all eight times. Is it the time to make it nine from nine and add the 15th Major to the tally? The Mole thinks so. And he’s definitely not alone.
"I was very pleased with my execution today, especially with this wind," Woods said. "The wind was up today, changing directions and affecting putts. It was a very difficult day. I had to grind it out."
Padraig Harrington, who played with Tiger during the opening rounds, is playing very well, but still nowhere near matching Tiger’s performance. The mind boggles as to what might have transpired if Tiger didn’t have that knee injury... and could next year be Tiger’s Grand Slam year... certainly looks like it at the moment. Definitely got the Midas touch...
Catch the action tonight, Tiger tees off at around 20:30.
