I've addressed the ball and it moved - now what? R&A rules official Ivano Ficalbi explains the implications of Rule 18-26 when a ball at address moves.

Hi Schultz
2 Points - (1) if you have addressed your ball ie taken your stance and grounded your club - and it then moves you are penalized 1 stroke whether the stroke is completed or not - if stroke not made then ball must be replaced & if not replaced then a further 1 stroke penalty. (2) If the player has not grounded his club (addressed the ball) there is no penalty unless the player caused the ball to move - same penalty as above.

Ball moved at address
Some courses allow placing on the fairways. So now i place my ball and what if i play the ball when it's in the process of moving ( in other words, it starts falling of the spot where i placed it?
