Anthony Kim has withdrawn from the $7.5 million Dubai World Championship citing, “My parents want to see their boy” as his reason for missing the event… Sound fishy to you? It certainly does to the Mole.
Sure, it has been a crazy year for Kim and he’s made a stack of cash, but the Mole wonders if the reduction in the bonus-pool prize money (and general lack of funding) for the Race to Dubai has anything to do with his sudden change of heart? The Mole can clearly remember all the hype when Camilo Villegas and Anthony Kim joined as members of the European Tour last year and now the guy can’t even be bothered to play in the Tour’s headline event. It’s just not right.
"Next year, I just want to be prepared for our season," he said. "The PGA Tour is my home tour, and it's where I need to play well. I've made it my priority to play well in the States. I was all over the place this year. I didn't do a good job of scheduling. Scheduling is half your job as a pro [Isn’t that what a manager is for?]. I learned a lot this year."
Yeah right….
