PGA Tour gets its first drug bust
comments: 0
Doug Barron might not have a PGA Tour victory to his name but, he can add a first to CV; the first pro to be banned for using an “illegal substance”. The Tour policy is not to disclose the substance in question, which really takes the fun out of it in the Mole’s opinion. But judging from this photo, maybe they were performance decreasing drugs...
“I would like to apologize for any negative perception of the tour or its players resulting from my suspension,” Barron said in a statement. “I want my fellow tour members and the fans to know that I did not intend to gain an unfair competitive advantage or enhance my performance while on tour.”
He has been handed a one year suspension. Barron made a whole $33 446 on the Nationwide Tour last year, so I don’t think we are going to be missing out on too much.
