In what seems like a last ditch effort to get his game back to its former glory, Trevor Immelman has gone for wrist surgery. The 2008 Masters champion – who hasn’t won a tournament since that maiden Major title – had been suffering with chronic tendonitis in his left wrist.
He has taken a lot of time off over the past two years, notably missing the last three Majors of the year. He’s currently ranked 93rd in the Official World Golf Ranking and finished 158th in the 2009 edition of the FedEx Cup. The Mole reckons it was a pretty wise decision to have gone for surgery.
He underwent the procedure on his wrist on Thursday with a doctor who did similar procedures on Luke Donald and Jim Furyk. He’s hoping to make it back in time for the start of next year’s season.
Let’s hope his return is as sensational as Tiger’s was this year!!! The Mole can dream can’t he?
