The nicest 43-year-old in golf, James Kingston, beat Swede Anders Hansen in a playoff to win the Mercedes-Benz Championship in Cologne today to earn (easily) his biggest cheque of his pro career – €320 000. And, after his 2008 SA Open victory, his second career European Tour win.

Rory Sabbatini is fully within his rights to be disappointed with Greg Norman’s captain’s picks for this year’s Presidents Cup. He was just knocked out of the top 10 automatic qualification by YE Yang’s ridiculous performance at the PGA Championship; now he gets left out... to be replaced with Adam Scott... Go figure.

So, the Mole got asked a few days back about what’s happened to South African phenom Ashleigh Simon. And, after some careful research, the Mole can report that not much has been going on sadly. Ashleigh has been suffering with a chronic back injury, which the Mole believes has been inhibiting her progress on the LPGA Tour.
