Kenny Perry’s mother has lost her protracted battle with blood cancer and passed away on Thursday morning. It’s been a tough year emotionally for Perry, with his mother having been put in a hospice in July. But that didn’t stop him from taking three titles and narrowly missing out on the Masters.

Ian Poulter has drawn criticism from his Ryder Cup captain, Colin Montgomerie, after declining to play the Vivendi Trophy. The Vivendi Trophy is a tournament on the calendar that is played every two years, alternating with the Ryder Cup, held in honour of Seve Ballesteros.

The European Tour have come out with an official statement which confirms the story the Mole brought you a few weeks ago about the prize money cut for the Dubai World Championship. The purse as well at the bonus pool has been cut by 25%, which means that a total of $7.5 million is now up for grabs.
