Tiger’s worst drive of the year

It’s certainly been an interesting week, but surprisingly neither the Nedbank Golf Challenge, due to start this week, nor the past weekend’s Gary Player Invitational, have made news headlines. Unless you fell off the planet in the last 48 hours, you will know that Tiger Woods was injured in a mysterious car accident outside his home. Meanwhile Dubai World is in a spot of financial trouble and this could have major implications for golf.

Woods finally speaks out

After two days of silence from the Woods camp, the world No 1 has fired back at tabloids and the media, dismissing “malicious” rumours following his car accident.

The Mole is struggling to understand why the Woods camp is not coming forward with any information regarding the happenings of his accident early on Friday morning. It’s been almost two full days since his bizarre accident and there is still no official statement. Strangely, Woods is still not talking to the police about what might have caused the accident. There are just too many unanswered questions and the Mole fears that there might be a lot more to this story.

28 November 2009
News has emerged that Tiger Woods was in a car accident in the early hours of Friday morning. He allegedly pulled out of his driveway in Isleworth at around 2:25 am where he proceeded to hit a fire hydrant and then crash into a tree in his neighbour’s garden.

The Mole recently took a look at results of the early stages of Q-school and was very happy to see that quite a few South Africans have made it to the final stages in Europe and the US. The final qualifying rounds will take place in Europe this weekend and in two weeks time in the US.

24 November 2009
The Mole has heard from the depths of the burrows that Ernie Els will be making an appearance at the Dunhill Championship this year, despite deciding to skip the SA Open and the Nedbank Golf Challenge. Maybe it’s a good chance for him to put some demons to bed. And, for those of you wanting to see him in the flesh, the Mole can strongly recommend the trip to Leopard Creek.

Robert Allenby isn’t having the easiest of times with the press or the public at the moment, but for once his controversial comments made sense. He was questioned at the Dubai World Championship as to why American players rarely travel abroad and this is what he said...
