One of the trickiest shots is the approach from a downhill lie, but with a bit of help, you should be able to master this shot. Here are a couple of pointers to remember:
1. Try to keep your shoulders parallel to the ground, as this will help you to swing ‘with the slope’.
2. Keep your weight on the front foot and the ball a little back in your stance to avoid catching the ground before the ball.
3. Take one less club, as the downslope of the fairway will effectively decrease the loft of your club, making you hit it further than you would normally.
4. Expect a little less spin on the ball as your angle of attack will be a little shallower on a downhill lie.
