The world’s longest [worst] golf course?
   
The Australians have done it again and come up with something truly bizarre, the world’s longest golf course. It’s a full 18 holes spread over the Australian Outback, well, 1 365 km of Outback for those of you who like to be precise.

Road Hole getting silly?
   
The Mole has learnt that The Royal and Ancient has adopted an Augusta-like approach to the Road Hole for the 2010 British Open... They are going to add an extra 25 yards to the hole to “encourage” players to hit driver.

The Mole plays the longest par three in the world
   
Remember Padraig teeing off on the world’s longest par three at Legends Golf Estate? Well, the Mole got to smack a few off the top of Hanglip Mountain to the green 1 410 feet below. Check out the video of the helicopter careering over the edge of the cliff to get an idea of the dizzying height one plays from.

In a strange turn of events, the Garden Route has “lost” three of its courses. They are Simola, The Links at Fancourt and Bramble Hill.

The world’s longest and highest par three, the signature hole at Legends Golf and Safari Resort, has its tee box poised at a dizzying height atop of Hanglip Mountain, 1 410 feet above the green and is only accessible by helicopter!

As is the case every year, the guys at Augusta are making a few changes. Whether it is moving an entire tee, or the placement of a dustbin – sorry, I mean refuse receptacle – something has to change. It's an unspoken tradition.

At a recent awards function in Johannesburg, the Ernie Els Signature designed Gardener Ross Golf Estate was named Best New Course in the Gauteng region by South Africa’s highly regarded golf monthly Compleat Golfer.
