We all have our off-days on the course as golf enthusiasts. Whether you’re an impressive five handicapper, or a weekend hacker off a 16, there are times when the game of golf can frustrate you. All it takes is one skewed drive and your day can be ruined. Most can laugh it off, shrug their shoulders and accept that it’s just part of the game.

However, check out these videos where the world No one Rory McIlroy has quite possibly one of the worst drives I’ve ever seen a professional hit. Rory’s body language speaks volumes about how appalling that drive was and I’m amazed he didn’t lose his cool. As far as duck hooks go, this drive from Rory McIlroy is pretty shocking.

But wait, it gets better. Rory wasn’t the only player to pull off an amateur shot. Former world No one Tiger Woods managed to top his drive on the 10th hole on the Abu Dhabi course and the shot barely cleared the 100m mark.

Both of these shots are making me wince and it’s absurd to think that professionals of this calibre and talent can actually make these sort of mistakes. Granted, 99.9% of the time they’d carve up most golf courses and they’re both expected to make the cut, but these two videos are just a reminder that the game of golf can still be cruel.
