Free entry to the Southern Africa Golf Museum

South Africa golf

The South African Golf Museum, incorporating The Southern Africa Golf Hall of Fame, will be opening it's doors from the beginning of August, and entrance will be free only until 1 September.

The museum consists of amazing memorabilia either donated or acquired (e.g. The Peter Sauerman Collection), wallpaper telling the history of golf including all facets of golf in South Africa, the major golf research library in South Africa, Hall of Fame and a retail store. A mini-golf putt-putt course to keep the kids occupied is also under construction outside the museum.

The museum itself is very interactive, and has the support of all the iconic players, golf bodies, and government.

The intention of the museum is to retain and consolidate local golf memorabilia, retain the history of golf, honour those who have made a contribution to the sport, encourage golf participation, and provide a tourism attraction for the Garden Route .

Many interesting events are scheduled for the near future including the Museum official opening and third Induction Banquet during November, and we'll keep you updated on those events.

The Museum is located at the Hyatt Regency Oubaai resort in Herolds Bay, George.
