Rosey day for TaylorMade’s R11

Rose held his nerve well when it looked as if he was going to throw it away, but a chip in birdie at the 17th rescued his round. The win moves him from 34th to third in the FedEx Cup standings. Here’s what he had in his bag:

TaylorMade driver

Justin’s tried-and-tested white dove

Justin uses a TaylorMade R11 8° driver fitted with a Project X X7A3 shaft. Rose doesn’t follow convention by using a 10.5° driver and his low trajectory off the tee-box gives his ball a chance to gain a few extra yards by rolling on the fairways.

TaylorMade fairway woods

The go-to clubs

He plays with two fairway woods and can choose between either one if his driver is not on song: a TaylorMade R9 13° fairway wood fitted with a Project X X7A3 shaft and a TaylorMade R11 17° fitted with a Project X X8A2 shaft. You will notice that he uses different shafts in these woods, which allows him to manipulate the ball in any direction.

TaylorMade irons

Accuracy beyond compare

Justin uses TaylorMade’s TP forged MB golf irons with KBS Tour C-Taper shafts. These are the same irons used by Open champion Darren Clarke and The Barclays champion Dustin Johnson. These irons allow him the freedom to shape his shot the way he wants to and has a lower, more penetrating ball flight.

Short game mastery (Wedges)

Different brands, same results

Justin plays with two wedges from different manufacturers. His 54° club is a TaylorMade TP with xFT and his 60° is a Titleist Vokey Design Spin Mill, both fitted with the same shafts as his irons, the KBS Tour C-Taper shafts.

Ghost putter

If it aint white, it aint right

Justin uses TaylorMade’s Corza Ghost putter. The white-headed putter seems to be the way forward as it allows you to line up perfectly. Remember, putting is for dough and Justin walked away with quite a lot of it this past weekend.

TaylorMade golf ball

The five-layered bandit strikes again

In his win, Justin used the TaylorMade Penta TP ball. Its five layers give the ball an extra advantage by having low spin off the driver and increased control with the short irons and wedges and is the perfect ball for all-round play. Many of TaylorMade’s professionals prefer using this ball.
