Four-time Major winner Phil Mickelson is back into the Official World Golf Ranking top 10 for the first time in five months thanks to some good form in the last couple of weeks.
The American left-hander moved up from 11th to ninth in the rankings after following his victory in the Pebble Beach National pro-am two weeks ago by finishing in a tie for second place in the Northern Trust Open.
Mickelson was beaten by fellow countryman Bill Haas in a three-way playoff that also featured US PGA champion Keegan Bradley.
Haas, who also won the season-ending FedEx Cup series last year, has risen from 22nd to 12th in the rankings.
American Bradley went up from 26th to 19th while former No 1 Tiger Woods slipped from 18th to 20th.
