American journeyman Mark Wilson gave PING the perfect start to the 2012 season by using its latest pro line of equipment to win the Humana Challenge.
Wilson endured some heavy winds, which even had play suspended during the third round, as well as having to make his 10-foot birdie on the final hole for victory in near darkness. But he showed why he is one of the most consistent players on the tour over the past couple of years having won five PGA Tour titles and is currently second on the FedEx Cup rankings, 230 points behind Sony Open winner Johnson Wagner.
Wilson’s bag is a mixture of the latest equipment and a few of the older generation models, but when something works, there is no point in changing it.
