Perhaps golfing legend Arnold Palmer can blame his tools this time, as he recorded his 20th career hole-in-one last week Tuesday, using a new set of Callaway golf irons for the first time.
Playing the Charger course at the Bay Hill Club & Lodge, home to the annual Arnold Palmer Invitational, Arnie used a Callaway RAZR XF 5-iron to hole out for an ace on the 163-yard (150m) par-three 7th hole.
“It was into a cross-wind from the left," Palmer said in a release provide by Callaway, the equipment company Palmer has endorsed since 2000. "The ball landed 10 feet short and politely rolled up into the hole.”
The RAZR XF irons are the latest premium game-improvement irons launched by Callaway and feature a forged carbon steel body with a high-strength carpenter steel face that has been designed to increase ball speed at impact.
The set consists of two hybrids and six irons and will be available in steel or graphite shaft in golf shops later this year.
